How to Clear Cache on Different Devices

On Windows

  1. Clear Browser Cache (e.g., Chrome)
    • Open Chrome.
    • Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
    • Go to More tools > Clear browsing data.
    • Choose the time range and the types of data to clear (e.g., cached images and files).
    • Click Clear data.
  2. Clear System Cache
    • Type Disk Cleanup in the Start menu search bar and open it.
    • Select the drive you want to clean.
    • Check the boxes for the types of files you want to delete (e.g., Temporary files, Thumbnails).
    • Click OK and then Delete Files.

On Mac

  1. Clear Browser Cache (e.g., Safari)
    • Open Safari.
    • Go to Safari > Preferences > Advanced and enable Show Develop menu in menu bar.
    • Click Develop in the menu bar and select Empty Caches.
  2. Clear System Cache
    • Open Finder.
    • Select Go > Go to Folder from the menu bar.
    • Type ~/Library/Caches and click Go.
    • Manually delete the contents of each folder.
    • Repeat the process for /Library/Caches (without the tilde).

On Android

  1. Clear App Cache
    • Go to Settings > Storage.
    • Tap on Cached data and confirm to clear the cache.
  2. Clear Browser Cache (e.g., Chrome)
    • Open Chrome.
    • Tap the three-dot menu and go to History > Clear browsing data.
    • Choose the time range and types of data to clear.
    • Tap Clear data.

On iOS

  1. Clear Safari Cache
    • Go to Settings > Safari.
    • Tap Clear History and Website Data.
  2. Clear App Cache
    • Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage.
    • Select the app and tap Offload App to free up space without deleting the app, or Delete App and reinstall it.
