To view revisions or track changes in an Excel 

OneDrive (Microsoft Excel Online)

  1. Open OneDrive: Go to onedrive.live.com and log in to your Microsoft account.
  2. Find the File: Locate the Excel file in your OneDrive. Files shared with you will be visible in the shared section or within specific folders.
  3. View Version History:
    • Right-click on the Excel file and select “Version history” from the context menu.
    • You’ll see a list of versions and edits made to the file over time, similar to Google Drive.
    • Click on a specific version to preview it or restore it.

Excel Desktop App (Shared Workbook)

If you’re using the desktop version of Excel and the file is shared as a shared workbook:

  1. Open Excel: Open the Excel file on your desktop.
  2. Review Changes:
    • Go to the Review tab on the Ribbon.
    • Click on Track Changes and then select Highlight Changes.
    • In the dialog box, check the box next to “Track changes while editing. This also shares your workbook.”
    • Optionally, you can select options for when changes are highlighted and how changes are displayed.
    • Click on OK.
