Invite people to a meeting

Internal Team Members:

  1. Start a New Team:

    • If you’re creating a new team, click on the “Teams” tab in the left sidebar.
    • Select “Join or create a team” at the bottom.
    • Choose “Create team” and follow the prompts to set up a new team.
  2. Invite Members to an Existing Team:

    • In the Teams app, navigate to the team where you want to invite members.
    • Click on the ellipsis (…) next to the team name and select “Add member.”
    • Enter the email addresses of the people you want to invite and add them to the team.

External Guests:

  1. Add Guests to a Team:

    • In the Teams app, navigate to the team where you want to invite external guests.
    • Click on the ellipsis (…) next to the team name and select “Add member.”
    • Enter the email addresses of external guests. Microsoft will send them an invitation to join the team as a guest.
  2. Invite Guests to a Meeting:

    • When scheduling a meeting, you can invite external guests by entering their email addresses in the “Invite someone else” field.
    • External guests will receive an email with a link to join the meeting.

Quick Invite to a Meeting:

  1. Schedule a Meeting:

    • Click on the “Calendar” tab in Teams.
    • Select “New meeting” and enter the meeting details.
  2. Invite Participants:

    • In the “Invitees” field, enter the email addresses of the people you want to invite.
    • Click on “Save” to send the meeting invitation.

Inviting People to a Chat:

  1. Start a New Chat:

    • Click on the “Chat” tab in Teams.
    • Select “New chat” and enter the names or email addresses of the people you want to invite to the chat.
  2. Add Participants:

    • In the chat, click on the “Add people” icon (plus sign) to invite more participants.

Note:

  • Ensure that you have the correct email addresses for the individuals you’re inviting.
  • Users may need to have a Microsoft 365 account to participate in Teams.
